http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=68494.msg576212#msg576212

i'm still missing "Scan with Avast! in Windows Explorer menu"
this applies for files and folder

installing new version via setup_av_free.exe not helped
is there any simple solution how re-enable this feature?

You can try that YoKenny said, then check if "Scan with Windows Explorer" appears in the list of "Scan now" tab. Check the settings, maybe is disabled there

Please run the Repair of avast. Control Panel -> Programs and Features -> Avast Antivirus -> Change/Remove -> Repair.

Then reboot the computer and this will hopefully make the problem go away.

Thanks

Mhhh. All my Shields are working, but only the
Behavioral shield is still not working:
Behavioral shield - 0/0

I try a reinstall, but it doesn´t work.
After the reinstall and a reboot it will work.

Funny: After the reboot i change something in the avast preferences and then... my first Windows 7 Bluescreen.

Hi I have just installed the new avast internet security.
It works fine but Microsoft Security Center says that i don't have a firewall installed.
But avast Firewall is active ???

Dwarden, what do you see in

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder\ShellEx\ContextMenuHandlers\avast    and
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{472083B0-C522-11CF-8763-00608CC02F24}\InProcServer32

?

Thanks
Vlk

1st is missing completely

2nd seems to be there
"(Default)"==C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast5\ashShell.dll
"Release Name"==C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast5\ashShell.dll
"ThreadingModel"==Apartment

---

so fix for folters is simple re-added the
\avast\
then
"Default"=={472083B0-C522-11CF-8763-00608CC02F24}

but still missing it for files?

---
tho it would be nice Avast! can fix this self  too 8)

i noticed interesting issue with ondemand scan of C:\ProgramData\

when Avast! reach directory
C:\ProgramData\Alwil Software\Avast5\log\

it started scan mail* .log files there with ultra slow speed (some KB/s)

twice as interesting considering i have *.log on exclusions

How many mail*.log files do you have there, and how big are they?

Tech, fire up a scan in avast GUI and then just close the GUI(without stopping the scan of course)... ;)
