Network and Web shield?
« on: January 02, 2011, 05:44:58 PM »
I am new to avast and i was confused about the the network and web shield. Every time i go on the internet, i check the shields but it takes a while for them to scan the website i am on. I'm a little worried that if i go on a website that is infected, the virus will be on my computer before avast has a chance to scan it. I have version 5.1.864. Any help is appreciated!

so what?  ;) the network shield doesn't analyse all pages, just the servers and refers to a white/black list, while the webshield actually scans each page for viruses. They don't do the same job at all.
