Has anybody tried the latest EASEUS Todo Backup Home v2.0 Free

Anyway while i wait for a reply on the EASUS forum i will take a look at their competition.

Darth you've got a reply at EASEUS forum they're wait for your respond and when you make a bootable CD does it have a PE plugin for the v2.0, because I've been told its linux-based boot disk(image) is not very good

Be very careful about Paragon Backup & Recovery 2010 Free Advanced because on Wilders Security Forum under Paragon Drive Backup Product Line many people having a lot of problems with this product.

Any way I having trouble to choose which product really do save my hairy @RSE


Edit:- I'll sit and wait for Darth Mikey after he done all the complete test and I'm sure he might recommend a free product IF I can trust him GOD CRIKEY!

@Tech: Sorry to hear that. In all my years working with computers i've only once had a hdd die on me. Had alot of data on it and i could never get it back. Did not have it backed up unfortunately. I don't know how your image files get corrupted though, care to explain ? Bad sectors or something ? No actually forget it, we are allready off-topic and will then get even more off-topic, we can discuss for a whole year on how to protect your pc from power surges, what kind of different methods there are for backing up, what strategies etc. This thread is about Easeus Todo...

Why? Linux based CD is the solution of Macrium, Kaspersky/BitDefender/AVG rescue CDs, etc.

The recovery CD(actually i put it on my USB key) works just fine over here. You have my system specs bellow in my userbar. Yes it's linux based but as i said it works fine.

The file can't be opened and so restored. It was validated after being generated. CRC fails? Bad sectors in the USB drive? Who knows...
I don't want, intentionally, say the name of the product as it should be an isolated episode and I don't want to make FUD.
Just that I've tend to trust more in partitions backups than on image ones

I'm happy for you guys to discuss other different types of free backup software like Paragon Backup & Recovery 2010 Free Advanced and Macrium Reflect FREE Edition, as long as your willing to do a complete report just like what Darth Mikey about EASEUS Todo Backup Home v2.0 Free I guess it's important that we can find the right free tool software for Home Users for peace of mind backup tool.

OK this is ridiculous. Now i can't even boot into the recovery environment, yesterday it worked just fine.  

From their reply on the forum, they say i need to restore 1 partition at a time, this for me is an obvious design flaw and i am done with this program. They need to work on it more...

Speedy check out Macrium please, many users are saying good things about it and we have quite a few forum members using it aswell. True it doesn't have incremental backups but from what i can tell it works as it should. Cannot say the same for Todo.

Me i've finally solved my weird Windows Backup problem so i will be using that for my backups. It's actually quite good even though it isn't very flexible but it will be fine for my needs.

There is a good USB booting iso files and Backup/Restore tool.
1. Boot iso from USB: http://www.pendrivelinux.com/boot-multiple-iso-from-usb-multiboot-usb/
2. From there, you have Easeus Copy Disk: http://www.easeus.com/disk-copy/
3. Also, Redo Backup and Recovery: http://redobackup.org/
4. A lot of other partitions tools. Until now, I do not find: a) how to run Macrium iso from there; b) a disk clone that does not clone the partition table also.

I've decided to choose Paragon Backup & Recovery 2010 Free Advanced a brand new free version http://www.paragon-software.com/home/db-express/ so far good in complete backup and I've also restored my backup, and works like magic no problem and no glitch.............Phew!

Also you can create a bootable USB Flash drive - recover your PC on demand

Finally it has a Rescue Kit Free Edition as well http://www.paragon-software.com/home/rk-express/

I'm looking for something like that for my new win7 netbook as it doesn't have a CD/DVD so it would need to have a bootable USB option to restore any back-up image. Though I believe Macrium Reflect is also able to do that, http://www.macrium.com/KB/KnowledgebaseArticle50025.aspx.

Very glad to hear that, i have also tried it and from what i can tell it works as advertised. It has a differential backup option(personally i prefer incremental but that's just me) plus a scheduler so that's a big plus. The GUI isn't exactly brilliant but it get's the job done. I'd say this is the most feature rich program of all these free ones. It's certainly worth a try.

Like i said though, personally i will be using the in-built Win 7 backup option as i finally got it working 100 percent. Had some weird issues with it before but they are all sorted out now.

Not really...
Shame that Macrium can't boot from an iso file (in an USB stick) like a lot of others... Will try if I can use UNetbootin to discover the necessary files to use Boot from iso. Post back later.
