crash on accessing Lotus Ami Pro 3.1
« on: January 02, 2011, 02:06:01 PM »
Hi.
First of all a Happy New Year to all.

I've just upgraded to the latest 5.1.864 (Avast free) on my WindowsXP SP3 machine. Now when i try to open AmiPro 3.1 or a .sam file, my computer crashes completely and reboots. This issue never occurred with previous versions of Avast.

Hope someone has a solution...

Do you have a c:\windows\memory.dmp file to zip and upload to avast and allow further investigation?

Upload it to this anonymous ftp server: ftp://ftp.avast.com/incoming/

Memorydump uploaded...
Tried some fiddling with excluding files for scan, disabling rootkit scan,... in vain.
BSOD STOP-error message says aswSP.SYS causes the problem

Hope this makes sense to anyone out there  :-\

Thanks for handling this on such short notice.
Can we expect an updated version of 5.1 soon?
