When I turn on my computer and I got an error message (attach: picture). Avast can't runs startup. I did restart & reinstall that won't work. What I should to do?  :'(
I have to do uninstall and then reinstall? Hope this will work...

Still not working!!!
1. Safe Mode
2. use Uninstall Utility
3. Remove Avast 5
4. Restart
5. Reinstall
6. Restart
7. show up an error message (Avast can't runs!)

I always got an error message. Why my Avast can't runs startup?    :-\   :-[

Anyone know about this issues?

  • If at first you don’t succeed; call it version 1.0
What is your operating system (OS) (and are you running as an administrator), and what was the last AV installed?
Any other security applications installed?
Windows 10,Windows Firewall,Firefox w/Adblock.

Windows Vista Ultimate (32-bit). Yes, running as an administrator.
No security applications or Anti-virus programs installed. I just Reboot my computer.
I opened Windows Security Center and click "Turn On," it show another error message (picture in attach).

 ;D My Avast works!!! :)

FYI: Uninstall Utility less than 291kb didn't work well.
Tech support sent by my email & they gave me a good link: http://public.avast.com/~zrubecky/aswClear.exe
This had 291kb! other less than 291kb which its not good.
And also this Utility does missed (ONE) a folder that didn't deleted after Safe Mode; "Alwil Software" folder in "ProgramData" folder. It should to delete a folder.
After this, my Avast WORKS!

Following steps:
1. Safe Mode (F8 key)
2. Run aswClear.exe (291kb)(Uninstall Utility tool)
3. After completed, close Utility Tool window
4. Restart the computer
5. Remove "Alwil Software" folder in ProgramData
6. Reinstall
7. Done.

I am glad your problem is resolved.
It's interesting that tech support made available a removal tool that is different from the standard tool on the website. Thanks for posting that info.
