Infection found
« on: February 04, 2011, 11:10:52 PM »
After a full scan just completed, Avast reported an infection which I moved to virus chest. I have a folder on my desktop named "Miscellaney." According to the scan this infection resides in that folder and is called "aswclear5.exe." Isn't that my Avast IE 5 installation file? Why would Avast be picking that up as an infection? Additionally, I have looked in that folder and I can't find this aswclear5.exe. I'd appreciate some help and direction on what I should do.

Avast just completed a full scan and says there was an infection found, aswclear5.exe, within a folder on my desktop. First, I checked the folder and didn't find this item. Second, isn't this my avast installation file? I placed in the virus chest. They are now recommending a boot time scan, but could someone please clarify this for me? Thank you in advance.

Thanks :) all updated ;)

A little excitement there.

I am just glad that it happened during the early afternoon on Friday, Los Angeles time and not during Friday night basketball games. :) :)
