New User with an Application problem

I have an application from Charles Schwab called Streetsmart Pro.
I have added the application to the firewall list, but the application will
not load. Any help out there. Thanks

What errors are you getting ?
What avast version and build number are you using (5.1.864 is latest release build) ?

Does this Streetsmart Pro require .net framework ?
If it does require .net then you could try this pre-release build, 5.1.884, see http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=69152.0.

I am not getting any error messages. The file streetsmartpro.exe will not open.
I am using version 5.1.864. I am not sure about the net framework, but I don't believe it is required. Any suggestions?

Did the program work prior to avast being installed?

Do you see the application attempting to run in your taskmanager?  If there are more than one executables running, close them all (or reboot your computer) and try running the application again.

Adding the application into the firewall exception list would allow network traffic to and from the program, but doesn't have anything to do with running it.

What OS and what Browser and version are you using?

lmarcz05, today we had 5.1.884 Beta release that solved some incompatibilities problems of 5.1.864 and 5.1.874.
Tomorrow (probably) we will have a final release. Can you wait or not?
If not, try uninstalling Behavior Shield (using Control Panel).
