Funny result to the question "Do you open every attachment you get?" 3% says "I don't know". ;D

Note: They used vps 0401-10. This test is old! ;D

Have you read the PDF report also? link removed on IBK's request

Strange that it tells some things different from what you can see in the table.

I was surprised to see 103 Avast users listed in the survey.

I didn't forget to submit to the survey, many of the tick boxes didn't have an option that related to avast, e.g. How often do you update your virus pattern file, daily, weekly, monthly, etc.

Another question, have you ever been infected (or something like that), this question didn't say 'with your existing AV,' e.g. the one you said you are using at the top of the survey and not another AV.

I have been infected previously (AVG) but not with avast. I didn't want this question (and some others) being attributed to avast.

These type of surveys unless they are more detailed or clearer, could show that 103 avast users have been infected, making it look like avast is terrible. Rather than show most avast users have moved to avast after infection using other AVs.

'Lies, damn Lies and Statistics.'

Questions 6 (Did your PC get infected in past by a virus even if you had an Anti-Virus installed?) and 7 (If you ever got infected, how did the virus usually reach your computer?) are not exactly properly setup either. If say NO in 6, you still have to say how you got infected in 7. There is no option to skip 7 or say never infected or something.

*

After reading over those questions, about half of them left me with no way to correctly & truthfully answer them. How really comparative can this survey be?

I answered no questions!

The owner of this site/survey needs to re-do these survey questions to include more answers.
