Internet Security
« on: April 25, 2014, 02:12:32 PM »
I just installed the trial Internet Security, then rebooted. My OS is XP Professional. Upon reboot, the Avast Icon did not appear in the System Tray. I had to click on the Desktop Icon to get it to appear. Why ?

difficult to say....

did you remove your previous used security program according to vendors instructions before installing avast ?

removal instructions and removal tools for previous used security programs found here

I previously used AVAST AV, just not the Internet Security. The Installation procedure said nothing about uninstalling anything, and since I am installing another AVAST product, you would think they would take care of any uninstalling of their own product.

then it should be fine..... unless there is a problem

see how it runs.... was this a one time issue...does it happen at evry boot?

you have a avast repair option to use if you get a problem, found at
controlpanel > Ad / Remove programs > avast > uninstall/change > repair option....
