false warning?
« on: August 28, 2004, 12:32:57 AM »
Hello
I am a n00b here, how are you everybody?

I use Avast! with Ewido.
When I downloaded the Avast! file this morning, it says that Ewido has been detected with Win32:Trojan-279[trj]

I am curious if this is just a false warning or not.

Thank you very much.

Hi,

there have been some false alarms with some TROJANO-variants today, please browse the board..

also please supply the full message/alert by avast, especially the full path/folder/name of the potentially infected file

--> is it in ewido program/engine, its signatures, or even in its quarantine folder ? ;)

Well i took the screenshot of the warning message window.

My brother (who also uses Avast and Ewido) is getting the same type of error as well.

I clicked on the delete button and now Ewido won't run XD.
I uninstalled the Ewido, then reinstall the entire thing again - then get the same warning even from the freshly installed one.

Hi,

Virus database just been updated again (twice on 27th August) so I am guessing they may have fixed the false detection.

Try scanning the file again?

Cheers
