Grabit and Avast

Hi there, folks.

1. I'm still alive, haven't been around for some time due to my military duty. Hope you are all well, I'm looking forward to participate in V6-Beta-testing. :-)

2. My concern: after I convinced my sister to convert to Avast, she encountered some probs with Avast Free 5.1.889 and Grabit. Downloads break every 10 to 15 secs or so, progress bar and times are not displayed correctly. Final DL are broken and unuseable.
After searching a little, I found the solution by turning off nntp-scanning in the mail shield.
This seems to be an issue with Avast since at least 2005.

The Grabit downloads are not scanned when nntp is disabled, right?

Is there any other solution to this?

2. Which version of Grabit is she using..? And which OS..?

I presume she's using the newest version... (just a guess)

The OS is VISTA 32 bit, up to date.

Check her Grabit version, there were some issues with vista before the 1.7 builds.

But it works fine with VISTA and the nntp option unchecked...
Doesn't seem to be a VISTA thing.
But I'll check.
