Problem installing Avast
« on: February 02, 2011, 12:43:37 PM »
Hi. I tried to reinstall Avast Free this morning to fix an error ("Failed to load language dll [1033\UIlangRes.dll]"). I removed the program in safe mode using the uninstall utility, then tried to install again. It keeps saying me that there is an error during the setup process, and shows me the log below.

I couldn't find any solutions, any help is welcome. Thanks!

It seems I can't just paste here the log, I will attach a txt file...

Which version of avast are you trying to install? Do you have any other security program installed?

If you face the problem even on version 6 then please make a topic in beta section along with screenshot log and detail info. It will help our developer. Beta section link are here

Ok, will do it, but I don't think it's related to the particular version...it fails both with 5.1 and the 6.0beta...
