Scan Errors.
« on: January 24, 2011, 04:59:05 AM »
Hi, I just joined the forum and this is my first post. Hope I got it in the right folder.

I'm using the free version of Avast and Windows XP Home. I've got Avast set to do a full scan every night. Twice in the past two weeks I've gotten errors when it scans saying "Some files could not be scanned". The first was a couple of weeks ago and then again last night. Any idea what's going on?

I took a screen shot from Avasts Scan Log and uploaded it to my image host.

This is in avast defs, not 100% sure but i think this is bc avast have just updated and done a cleanup in the def folder at the same time as you scanned, anyway it is nothing to worry about

Files that can not be scanned is normal, and it means just that and not that they are infected. There are many reasons why files can not be scanned like password protected / encrypted / belongs to another security program........

Thank you, Pondus! Since posting I've read where others have had the same thing. Glad it's nothing bad.  ;D
