I'm glad to see I'm not the only one having this problem. I have four PCs running Window 7 Home Premium. My three 32-bit systems took the 5.1889 update without a hitch, but my 64-bit system is experiencing the same problems stated here in this thread. I am running Threatfire, and I think I would switch anti virus programs before uninstalling Threatfire, if that program is even the one causing conflict. Has anyone been able to determine if Threatfire is the culprit?

Did you try uninstalling ThreatFire and testing?

I would get rid of Threatfire before I got rid of avast!

No problems with Behavior Shield on Windows 7 either.

I've tried that.. With uninstalled threatfire, it is working normally.. I'll try tomorrow to uninstall BeS and isntall threatfire again.. I'll report

I've tested it now with _installed_ ThreatFire and _uninstalled_ Behavior Shield of Avast on Win 7 x64; result:

seems to be working!

avast asked mt to update and now i cannot restart my computer. DELL desktop using Vista. I'm not 100%% clued up on computers but i ran microsoft start up repair but this can't help. I also tried to do a restrore but this didn't work.  i can't even get the PC to start to get in to safe mode. I've run out of ideas now and my PC is totally jiggered !!  can anyone help.

Can you boot in Safe Mode and uninstall avast?
