virus definition freezes windows
« on: January 26, 2011, 12:32:12 PM »
I've had Avast 5.x.x installed on my PC for a while now, but recently when I updated the Virus Definitions and restarted my PC, windows freezes as soon as it loads up Avast. I can get into safe mode, and it works fine. Uninstall Avast, and normal Windows works fine. Even reinstalling Avast is fine (Any version. I've tried a few). As soon as I update it, windows freezes. I can't figure it out, and I can't seem to find anyone else who's had this problem. The pc that freezes is running Windows XP Home SP3, but Avast seems to be working fine on PC's with Windows XP Pro SP3. Is it a Home issue? How can I fix it??

Thanky!

Do you use ThreatFire? Any other security program?
Which was your old antivirus before avast?
