5 machine SBS network without ADNM...v4.8 or v5?
« on: February 16, 2011, 11:18:47 PM »
Hello,

Just curious what you would recommend or if the license even allows...I have a client with a 5 machine network on SBS.  Since it is so small and simple we don't use the ADNM...just the server version and desktop installs on the clients.

Should we (or can we) run v5 or v4.8 on the clients?

If you don't care about having to manage the settings of all of the clients from one place, I think it would be a no-brainer to use the new version 5.

You'll have to upgrade them all eventually anyhow, so you might as well install the new(er) version now, especially since 6 isn't too far away, and it's and easier upgrade from version 5 than it is for 4.8.

I'd still use the ADNM or the new SBC (yet to be released) anyway, since licensing and managing the clients will be easier in the long run.
