e-mail send failure
« on: February 18, 2011, 12:09:19 PM »
All of a sudden, I was unable to send e-mail - could receive it, but just not send.  After a couple of hours with support from my email provider - still could not send.  This morning, I started turning off firewall/avast shields to see if any of these were preventing the send.  I found that the Mail Shield is preventing the sending.  Currently, that is the only disabled shield and my firewall is back on.

I am using the free version - 5.1.889 with the virus definition version of 110218-0.

The mail shield settings have been the default settings (scan inbound messages and scan outbound messages).  I did not add/change anything manually in the expert settings, but do see entries in the SSL accounts area.

Not sure why Mail Shield is preventing the send, but for now, it is turned off permanently.

Add your mail account in the expert settings and make sure everything is correct.
That should solve it.
