Virus from News Vault page.
« on: February 07, 2011, 06:08:07 PM »
Hi, I visited the News Vault page at
hXXp://www.thenewsvault.com/ and received
a nasty virus that hijacks the system and shows
spam popups for antivirus.net. I use firefox and
a licensed copy of avast internet security that is
auto updated and current. The virus auto loads
the minute you click on a link that leads to what
appears to be a picture host called nudes inc.
These are the links for the celeb images.
Any help on why I am not secure and what this
virus is would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Driver ???

Please 'modify' your post change the URL from http to hXXp or www to wXw, to break the link and avoid accidental exposure to suspect sites, thanks.

Download DDS and save it to your Desktop from here:
http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/dds.scr

Double click dds.scr to run the tool.

    * When done, DDS will open two (2) logs:
         1. DDS.txt
         2. Attach.txt

Save both reports to your desktop. Post DDS.txt back to topic.
