Since installing Avast Home, I have been getting the following error overnight.  I've never seen it during the day, and I'm not sure what event is triggering to cause this.  Does it mean anything to anyone?

IFSMGR(01) + 00002CCD Error: 0E : 0028 : C003571D

It may not be Avast that's causing it, but that's the only program that has been installed since the crash started (and it started the day Avast was installed).

The PC is a 933MHz machine with 128-megs of memory (yuck I know).  It's running Windows ME (again, yuck I know).

Operating System: Windows Me (4.90, Build 3000)

               BIOS: Intel
          Processor: Intel Pentium III, ~930MHz
             Memory: 126MB RAM
Page File: 133MB used, 1788MB available
        Windows Dir: C:\WINME
    DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0b (4.09.0000.0902)

this can have loads of reasons, and often happens with low ressources..("yuck")
this repeats after reboots ?
Does it also happen in SafeMode ?
What gives a thorough scan with avast (archiv-scan enabled) in SafeMode ?

try google:

have you changed anythign in the default settings of avast.. ?
maybe increased the scanning sensivity ?

Are all WindowsUpdates applied ? Please CHECK:

What avast version/VPS are you using. ?

you might want to clean up your Win: clear Temp.Int.files, Temp.Folders, defrag & scandisk.. etc..
and post a hijackthis-Log for diagnosis:
