Snap.

But, all that doesn't amount to a hill of beans if the dark brown stuff hits the fan.

If you haven't got a robust backup and recovery strategy then all that is for nought.

A second internal hard drive plus a USB external hard drive works well for me. 8)

All of these are well and good for the individual's own comfort and each to their own.

I have been informed that you cannot run two antivirus programs nor malware programs.  I run Avast, Microsoft's Security Client, Spybot Search & Destroy/w TTimer, and SUPER Antispyware Free Edition.  OH, also Microsoft's Firewall on Win7 64bit.  As long as I do not screw-up and remove software that is really needed even though I do not use it, all works just fine and has been for over a year and a half.  I feel very comfortable with this setup.
Thank you for reading my posty toaster,

Spybot Search & Destroy/w TTimer,
No SpyBot S&D Teatimer for me as it has not kept up with the times.
Even DavidR agrees

Spybot I feel has depreciated from what it was some years ago.
