Avast Antivirus Unsecured.

Ive recently been having problems with the network on my laptop. It has led to my Antivirus becoming disabled and i am unable to get it running again.

The message I get under summary is

UNSECUED
Your system is not protected
Please use the Fix Now button to start protecting your system.

However nothing happens when I press FIX NOW.

Im using program version 5.1.889

Any solutions?

Do you have or had any anti antivirus on the system?
If so which one?
What operating system?
Any other security software installed?
Have you tried a repair of avast?
If not, try it.
If you did, uninstall avast, reboot and install it again.
Control panel > software avast > remove (choose repair to try to repair it or remove to remove it)
After removing run the uninstall util before rebooting.
