There is a new version of the Peacekeeper browser benchmark and I ran IE9 in 32 and 64 bit.

32 bit--- 1052 points
64 bit---  662 points
Windows 7
32 bit--- 950 Points
64bit--- 731 Points

Mine is with Win7 Home Premium 64 bit as well. The Sunspider javascript benchmark shows an even greater disparity with the lower numbers denoting faster performance.

IE9 32 bit ---376.9
Chrome -------503.5
IE9 64 bit --1830.7

This shows the reported lack of the better javascript engine in the 64 bit version.

The ie9 64 score for me was 1243 so i believe this has alot to do with system hardware as well.

32 bit ie9 scored 1882

Sunspider scores were

ie9 32 = 189
ie9 64 = 959

I have been using File Hippo's Update Checker for some time now and I have to say it is a handy program I only care that it tells me about Adobe Flash Player, Adobe air updates mostly.
OS: Windows 11 64-bit
Webbrowser: Mozilla Firefox
PC Specs: Intel i5-12400f, Nvidia RTX 3050, 16gb ram, 1.5TB SSD(s).

Sure a more powerful CPU makes a difference. You're using a high end i7 at minimum 2.9 ghz where as mine is an AMD quad APU unit that idles at 800mhz, normally runs at 1.5ghz but can accelerate up to 2.4ghz when needed. It also regulates itself by temperature, slowing down if certain limits are exceeded. Regardless of that though, the tests show that the 32 bit version is significantly faster than the 64 and even outperforms Chrome in the Sunspider javascript test. There are some tests in Peacekeeper though that IE can not run. My Chrome scored 1777 in Peacekeeper but I will still use IE9 32 as my default.

One other thing. The other day I set the Avast behavior Shield to ask. It had always been on auto-decide before and had always allowed things according to the log. I got a popup behavior shield alert for FileHippo so at least we know the shield does work even though it seems like a lightweight HIPS if you set it on ask. I may change it back if it gets too annoying.
