Avast 6 not scanning emails in Outlook 2010

I have reciently upgraded from Outlook 2007 to Outlook 2010 x32.

I checked the mail shield and realised that it isnt scanning any incoming or outgoing emails at all.

I have setup the accounts to scan SSL and Imap as i had to do for outlook 2007 also and its still not having any of it.

Anyone have any ideas?

Hi,

I have encountered same problem few days ago. Outlook 2010 has in-built security controls like SSL & IMAP. So you have to deactivate in-build security of your Outlook 2010 account, in order to take control over it by avast!. Then your mail shield will display scanned mails.

In your account connections...

Change it from using SSL to standard ports.  Read here, click on section 4 (advanced) and see the screenshot. http://sonic.net/support/ss/windows/outlook07/settings.shtml#advanced
