Should website blocking work in SafeZone?
« on: February 25, 2011, 07:09:32 PM »
One user asks if website blocking works in SafeZone. He noticed that it doesn't work in SafeZone for some sites (e.g. tools.google.com/chrome ).
May the FOSS be with you!

Not entirely sure on the answer to your question, but the reason that it doesn't could be similar to the reason safezone doesn't use the hosts file

The browser in the safezone is SafeZoneBrowser.exe, I rather doubt it would be using the settings which are outside of the safezone. The idea being to isolate the safezone from the live system as much as possible.

I don't know what settings can be set within the SafeZoneBrowser.exe or if they are retained when you close the safezone.

Thank you for your replies. I made a resume for the user, translated into Russian and posted it in the Russian sub-forum.

Off topic: just to note that K9 webprotection works (at least partially) inside of the SafeZone.
Keywords are not filtered, but the websites themselves are blocked accordingly to K9 categories.
Seems K9 still work inside of the SafeZone.

Tests with keyloggers and screen capture (and video capture) worked perfectly.
