Free Avast 5 boot-time scan report
« on: February 28, 2011, 04:24:18 AM »
I searched the forum but did not find an answer.  I have a registered copy of Free Avast 5 and today the scheduled full scan found some trojans and recommended a boot-time scan.  All went well but it found some corrupted files.  I only saw two problem files listed during the scan but had to leave it.  When I came back, I was back to my desktop with no report.  My problem is that I can't find any report from anything other than the full scan.  Does Free Avast 5 log its findings from boot-time scan and if so what would its name be?  I would like to remove the corrupted files

Yes. :)
Search for aswBoot.txt on your system.

Well, I scheduled another bootscan but it didn't generate the .txt file you alluded to.  I searched the entire hard drive but no aswBoot.txt.  Any other suggestions?

- Ensure that you have hidden files and folders enabled and disable hide system files in Windows Explorer, Tools, Folder Options, Hidden files and folders, uncheck Hide extensions for known file types, etc. see image.
