== Set a new address of BP/BPP server ==

# Open the avast UI on the machine where you want to change the configuration
# Disable the self-defense feature for a while
# Go to "c:\ProgramData\AVAST Software\Avast\" and open "avast5.ini" in text editor such as notepad. (the 'C:\ProgramData\' folder may vary based on platform/configuration)
# Find the common section of the INI file
# Change the 'SBCServerName' key to proper value - enter new FQDN or IP address of the server.
# Save the file.

The machine should now reconnect to newly specified server.

When using Notepad to edit the file, it shouldn't be necessary to disable the self-defense (at least it's not in the end-user program versions).

Will be nice to have an option from the interface to specify a new server (or maybe auto discover a new one - usefull if we have 2 servers and one is down).

+1.

I think claudiuc is right. This is a very important parameter in ABP and ABPP to be in an ini file.

Even for support people (by phone) to know the IP address of the SBC server can be the first step.

Hi,

thanks for the suggestion, we'll add it to our internal "wish list" for future releases. For the time being, INI file or "new deployment" from the correct server will remain the options for the first release.

Cheers
