Aye I did which was why I queried you about the shield settings

Do you run any other net related programmes at start like IM's or P2P
No i don't have any progs at start like IM'S or P2P.
I did try disabling webshield but still the same.

Forgot to mention, during install of the latest Avast6 free from
file hippo it gets to the stage of "finishing setup" and sticks there
with the full green download bar and does'nt progress any further.
Then as soon as i click the mouse the pc freezes, and i have to turn it
off at the power switch and back on then "start windows normally".
Then when windows boots up the voice comes on saying Avast has been installed.
Also a neighbour asked me to put Avast on his pc and it did exactly the same thing. ???

Quality is also a feature.

Hi Lukas,
I just uninstalled Avast6.0v and installed 6.0.1027v(again) and it does the same thing
freezes at "finishing setup" but says installed after i turn off power and back on.
The browsers are opening as normal now but i'm not holding my breath because
it's done that before then starts taking ages to open the browsers again.
I've had a bit of trouble uploading the setup file it's too big,any ideas
of how to upload it?
