just to add that Vlk should may be specify this very clearly each time he starts a new thread relating the beta testing of a pre-release version of Avast, something like a banner telling everyone that the software is available for testing purposes exclusively, shouldn't be used in a production environment etc... can lead to system instability... : doesn't matter if some of it does not correspond to reality, it is "potentially" true.

I agree. On the pre-release 1021 it said something like "try out this release a few days before it's released to everybody as a final". I thought the final release would be out in 24-72hrs, based on the above wording.

1000 works fine.
1021 and 1027 gives BEX errors and preventing some dll's to load. Tried three times now.

Likewise,It just got worse with 1021 and the same with 1027.
So i quickly returned to 1000.

I think 1021 was better than 1000 for XP users and caused me no problems at all. 1027 works but has the gui glitch with the sandbox and seems to take a lot longer to boot, update, and even scan than 1021 did. No major problems, just small things.

no matter what i try 1027 is no go, BSOD on boot ....

unfortunately it's not possible anymore download 1021 which was working ...

so it's either not working 1000 or 1027

These are not Pre Releases but Betas and should be treated as such.
Unless you know what you are doing leave them alone.

What about copying the link from 1027 and changing the number to 1021? That should work to get the previous beta.

Have a folder on your downloads. I marked mine "Downloads",
simple huh. Then when you want to try a program, just put it in
the download folder, then Run it. If you keep the program that is
working in a folder, then if the new one has a problem, you can
just re-install the working one. I do that with all my down-loads
and don't delete working programs until you are sure updates will
work. This plus, copy working program to disc so you can re-install
it.

it will not work, using the 1021 download leads to 1027 and i assume Avast replacing the files hardstyle thus 1021 is not available anymore

@tedw obviously i didn't keep copy of 1021 installer otherwise i would not need it ...

@rambo1940 be happy it works for You - as for me not ...
