Why would people vote my site as bad?
« on: March 15, 2011, 03:08:17 PM »
Hi!!!  :)
This is my first post as ive never had a problem with Avast before.

Can someone tell me why people would report my website as bad?
Its a joomla site with no fancy coding or anything but according to Avast voters its a bad site.  :o

Could this be malicious voting by a competitor?
The big red marks could seriously affect my business if enough of my potencial customers are using Avast.

Its really quite worrying.
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
My web site address is www.enviro-pc.com

Many thanks.
Justin Pearce

Edit: Ive just noticed this site http://1stdirectory.co.uk/companies/165817_enviro_pc.htm has also been voted down as it links tro my site.
Could this be a mistake or has someone got it in for me?

Use the new - Contact avast http://www.avast.com/contact-form.php?loadStyles for:  * Sales inquiries; Technical issues; Website issues; Report false virus alert in file; Report false virus alert on website; Press (Media), issues.

Use the Report false virus alert on website, whilst this isn't a virus alert, report it as an error in the WebRep ranking and can they investigate/review it. A link to this topic might also help.

Could have been based on the so-called Google PR-rating, see: http://www.bname.ru/analysis/enviro-pc.com
Do as DavidR suggests,

Out of interest how many votes does it take before 1 red bar happens?

That is outside the knowledge of an avast user like myself, that would be down to the developers and any weighting applied, etc.

I would assume its a very low number as nothing is wrong with my site so this would sugest malicious use of the software by a competitor.
My site is 100% clean and the content would even be child friendly (if a child where interested).

Ive had no responce from Avast at all so ill resend the report.
Starting to loose faith in this product which is a shame because apart it being open to abuse it seems pretty good and alot less resouce hungry than other products.

Your website is good and informative but don’t have attraction. There is not good color and buttons. Mean to say color contrast is not good.
