While I like the present GUI I can see where some users might like to be able to choose from several skins, as I recall you can/could do in 4.X.

However, I would not like to see that option added at the expense of performance or cost.

Well i like to just sit and look at it, so if i have to choose between good looking and good detection......hmmmmm....tough choice    ;D

 :D ;D
Perhaps a compromise would be to add an optional splash screen for those that like to stare at the AvastUI, like

AMD A6-5350M APU with Radeon HD Graphics, 8.0GB RAM, Win7 Pro SP1 64bit, IE11
i7-3610QM 2.3GHZ, 8.0GB Ram,  Nvidia GeForce GT 630M 2GB, Win7 Pro SP1 64bit, IE 11
Common to both: Avast Premium Security 19.7.2388, WinPatrol Plus, SpywareBlaster 5.5, Opera 12.18, Firefox 68.0.2, MBam Free, CCleaner

Why would somebody even just sit there and stare at the UI  its not much to look at (Which is the way i like it)  All you use a antivirus for is firewall, shield stats, Scanning, Updating, reporting, etc.   It would be just silly to just open the Avast UI and just stare at it and do nothing else..
OS: Windows 11 64-bit
Webbrowser: Mozilla Firefox
PC Specs: Intel i5-12400f, Nvidia RTX 3050, 16gb ram, 1.5TB SSD(s).

Yes, hence, the hypno-spiral.  Once opened, the hypnosis kicks in, and then you simply can't bring yourself to close the UI.  No one will be able to resist.

(i still think, zebra stripes, all day)

To be perfectly honest, I liked Avast 4.8 alot better because it had no big ugly user interface. Ever heard of the phrase "Less is more"? Well when it comes to anti-virus software I prefer something that does it's job without cluttering up my screen with a bunch of junk.

I need my screen for other things not some big anti virus GUI no matter how good it looks. All I need to know is that it's on and updated. Everthing else is just clutter really. So if you really want to make a nice UI - Don't make one at all. Just the icon and brief pertinent info is all I want.

I have found an ideal AV for you: Placebo AV - The Ultimate Solution.

There is nothing wrong with the avastUI and I too think the lash-up image in Green horrendous, Yuck. Not to mention User Interface is more than just aesthetics.

I suggest that you stop wasting your time and ours (as clearly avast aren't going to change the colours, corporate branding), if you don't like the avastUI, use another one and be done with it.
Windows 10 Home 64bit/ Acer Aspire F15/ Intel Core i5 7200U 2.5GHz, 8GB DDR4 memory, 256GB SSD, 1TB HDD/ avast! free 24.1.6099 (build 24.1.8821.762) UI 1.0.796/ Firefox, uBlock Origin, uMatrix/ MailWasher Pro/ Avast! Mobile Security

I say that it just needs to be smaller or at least have a "netbook mode". If it has kickass protection that won't slow me down, I'm sold.

Sure, they won't. ;)
Everything is orange now: GUI, logo, forum, avast hq, etc...
And, I like it. :)
