I know this is a little off topic, but if anyone is interested I could use some help. I'm helping a friend.
Problem:  Full Tilt Poker application will not connect to the log-in server.  The application tries but times out.  Everything else on the computer works, including Pokerstars, IE8, Chrome, and POGO.  Full tilt worked until about a week ago.
System: XP SP3 fully patched. Formatted and reimaged 4 months ago. Avast Free and MBAM free is the only security software ever installed.
Trouble shooting so far: Tried to restore from a previous restore point, but they are corrupted. No Joy.
Full system scan and boot-time scan with Avast. Full system scan with updated MBAM.  No malware detected by either.
Unistalled the last Microsoft updates.  No Joy.
Uninstalled full tilt using add/remove programs and reinstalled from a fresh download.
No Joy
Uninstalled full tilt with Revo uninstaller and installed again, No Joy.
Uninstalled Avast properly.  No Joy.
Turned off the Windows firewall. No Joy.
Reinstalled avast, gave up for the evening, Had a Jack and Coke and went to bed.
Any ideas?
By the way, my laptop hardplugged to the same internet connection runs full tilt.
