First, Gargame, when you do an Avast install, the first thing it does is set a Restore Point, I got past that.
Ok, that makes sense, thought you meant something else.

Regardless of what it took, happy to know that avast! is finally installed.
I think most of us learned something from this.
I've never had a problem with MBAM interfering with an avast! installation.

When I updated my MalwareBytes Free to the new program version, there was an issue with it not running.  I had to uninstall, and run http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam-clean.exe.  On reinstall, MBAM free ran fine.  I'd never had to do that before on updates.

At any rate, glad you have it sorted now.
