broken package
« on: March 21, 2011, 03:17:50 PM »
When I try to download the new version and the virus definition I get an error saying the package is broken.  I also tried to install manually with no luck.

I tried the link, restarted computer and still no update.  It says I have version 5.1.889.  In the program when I click the update for virus definitions and update program it runs for a moment then error.  " the package is broken"

When I download from the link and run it the package unpacks then nothing. Do I need to do a full uninstall and reinstall.

Thanks

Let's try a clean install.
1. Follow instructions here: http://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility
2. Reinstall avast!
Solved..??

Well that seems to have worked the only problem is that I purchased a license back in August and when I insert it it doesn't acknowledge it.  I guess I will see what happens in a month.

Thanks for you help!   :)
