WebRep with IE in "Windows 2000"?
« on: March 22, 2011, 04:20:24 PM »
I have successfully installed Avast! Free V6.0.1000 on my old "Windows 2000" laptop. I am working offline with this unit, but I have a question about the "WebRep" section.
In my "WebRep" submenu is following information:
Internet Explorer - Browser not installed.
Mozilla Firefox - Browser not installed (this is true).
The icon "Automatically detect new browser installation" is checked.

Is there a minimum IE version required in Windows 2000 to use the "WebRep" plugin?
Notebook A: DELL Inspiron 8000 | Pentium III (800 MHz) | 512 MB RAM | Win 2000 Pro (SP4+UR1) | avast! Free V7.0.1474
Notebook B: MAXDATA Pro 700T | Pentium III (800 MHz) | 256 MB RAM | Win 2000 Pro (SP4+UR1) | avast! Free V8.0.1497
Notebook: DELL LATITUDE E6530 | i7-3540M (3 GHz) | 4 GB RAM | Win 7 Pro (SP1, 64bit) | avast! Free V8.0.1497

most likely not compatible with your IE version and/or OS, and tbh, what do you want WebRep for if you don't go online ??? ... as to running an 11 years old OS, well ::)
