[Solved] How to being asked for file deletion?
« on: March 22, 2011, 05:19:56 PM »
Sorry for my english, i'm italian.

I don't remember from what version avast ceased to ask what i would do with an infected file.... it now just delete them without asking. I'm unable to find an option to avoid it...
So, how can i disable automatic file deletion?

Thanks.

When virus is detected, it will automatically move It to the chest (defaultly). If you want to be asked what to do then open Avast! UI/Shields/File system shield/Expert settings.../Action/set all to ask (same with other shields)

Hi Parduz, welcome to the forum :)

If you want to change the Default Action, open the Avast! GUI and go to : Real Time Shields - File System Shield - Expert Settings - Actions , where you can configure it to your needs. Personally I use : Ask - Move to Chest - Delete for all 3 detection options, Virus, Pup and Suspicious.

You can configure Mail -, Web -, P2P -, IM - and Behaviour Shield the same way, although Web - and Behaviour Shield have some different options.
