Well MBAM is my first choice as 2nd scanner and many in this forum use it and dont worry about conflict they work perfectly together. you can also use hitman pro http://www.surfright.nl/en/hitmanpro IMO its good to have a cloud based scanner also hitman pro is very fast. only problem is that it wont remove threat after the trial period. But u can scan unlimited time. Also give winpatrol a try http://www.winpatrol.com/ its more then useful.  :)

Keep safe....

My recommendations at the avast! Security Seminars for additional programs
to complement avast! are always the following:

Malware Bytes Anti Malware (MBAM) : http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php
     Ccleaner : http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/
     CcEnhancer: http://www.techspot.com/downloads/5014-ccleaner-enhancer-ccenhancer.html
     WinPatrol : http://www.winpatrol.com/download.html
Enjoy avast!

Spybot is outdated and won't help anymore. Keep only MBAM.
