guys just a request: really no need to open Avast UI when launching an update check from the gadget, a small popup would do the job to confirm or not that an update is available, to confirm or not that it's been applied. Could even be integrated in the gadget, but in the meantime, just a popup in the icon tray would be fine.

Noticed again that after all this time the virus db version number bug is still there.  The summary wants me to update, when I do the update says I already have.  Not a real problem; just something to invite more questions.
And the next update should fix the problem. Dump of AvastSvc.exe sent to Avast! as mismatch.zip.

OK, just experience a problem in the 6.0.1044 build (happened on both win XP Pro and my win7 netbook):
The monthly Scheduled Full System I created to Run on the 1st of the month at 1am. Well in the we small hours of this morning (the 29th) unbeknown to me it started in the background and just kept looping, the system date and time are correct.

If I Stopped it, it would fire again and again and again, nothing would stop it and I couldn't get into the settings to cancel the schedule. Pausing it was the only way to stop the looping.

See, http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=74914.0 for more info.

This made me thing of the other instances of High CPU % that were reported by others, could this be the problem.

@Logos.  I haven't seen it since the last build either, but Vlk asked me to send a dump when I saw it again so they could chase it down before the release.  Seems to related to the timing of the wakeup DB update vs the internet becoming active when coming out of sleep in the morning.

There have been several threads indicating the same or similar problem that I am experiencing.  I have not seen any of the techs reply.  I am posting here to help make sure it is seen by Avast! folks.

After windows update install of Win7 SP1 on x64, all browsers cannot access the internet while internet connection is fine.  This was with Avast! 5.xx, Windows firewall, no other security software.  Email works as do program updates.  Disable all Avast! shields and browsers work fine.  Re-enable shields and still fine.  Reboot: same problem - disable, re-enable shields, fine again.

Uninstall and run clean uninstall utility.  Reboot twice and install latest versions.  Same problem.

Go to the Avast folder in program files and double click "aswSidebar". This will install it. I also had this problem. It may be Program Files (x86) for you though.

Same problem here! Had this issue with the last few v5 releases before the v6 Beta (which did the same) but the final v6.0.1000 release was OK until a few days ago when it started doing it again? Uninstalled and installed v6.0.1044 and it does the same! I've now installed CIS as my confidence in Avast to release a stable product has been severly dented these last few months!!

I submitted a support ticket this morning.  I'll post the results of this effort.

This build seems stable enough for me. All weird probs (eg. Teracopy) seem to be fixed.
As a side note, the script shield seems to work ONLY when running WMP, no other app that I can think of triggers script scanning.

Denkfehler.

Screen 1 sind die Einstellungen, die greifen, wenn in Screen 2 das Häkchen gesetzt wird. Also der Haken in Screen 2 ist Voraussetzung dafür, dass die Settings in Screen 1 greifen.
