Java Update Blocked!!!!

I clicked the standard pop-up to install Java update and DING DING DING, malware is reported!
I went directly to Java site and the file download was blocked there also.
Anybody having same issue??

Hi Turboman yes I had the same issue, I got the avast! software updater pop-up message informing me of a Java update I clicked on install update and I got the word Error.
Anyway long story short I completely uninstalled Java and reinstalled it.
Here is the link I used to download Java http://www.filehippo.com/ select the windows version you want to install EG win 7 64 bit /32 bit restart you PC and go to Software Updater and Java should be there and up to date.

Hope this helps you and anyone else who have had this problem.

Happy avast user, thanks for all the info. Quite honestly I think there have been too many Java updates but they tell us we must have them. I've never had this trouble before, it's very strange. My first thought was that a clever hacker had discovered a way of sending out legitimate looking update notifications. It makes you wonder.

Java has had several security updates in the past few weeks.  There were over 60 known vulnerabilities that had to be patched.  JRE 7 U 15 alone patched 5 of them while JRE 7 U 13 patched 55.  These vulnerabilities were being actively exploited.

Adobe has had is turn in the meat grinder recently, too.  Oracle and Adobe products are among the top targets of hackers and will remain so unless their development process is overhauled.

Happy avast user, does this mean we have to do this manually for all future Java Updates???!!! Bit of a drag!!!
I've just downloaded the latest from FileHippo as suggested.

Okay, all done: Removed old version, installed latest and checked online for verification. Sorted!!

JRE 64 bit must be manually updated, per Secunia's site.  Secunia PSI can update Java 32 bit, although I don't allow autoupdates except for Avast VPS and streaming updates.

To answer your question I certainly hope that we do not have to manually update Java in the future, I for one will not continue to update Java manually too much hassle  and hard work for me to update Java manually
I updated Java as a once off this time and I am hoping I will not have to do it again
