Why does it tell me to reboot after each reboot?
« on: September 24, 2004, 09:39:24 AM »
Hi folks,
I'm running a fresh install of win2000pro, zone alarm pro and nothing else.
I have just installed and registered 4.1 home edition, and each time I restart my 'puter Avast's popup says that I should restart again?
I've uninstalled/reinstalled Avast with the same result.
Any clues?

BTW
I have checked the FAQ's to no avail.

Thanks in advanace.

- Did you already applied ALL security updates/patches before going online?
- Did you install a firewall before going online?

If not the system may already be infected.

- Have you tried the uninstall util for Avast and then reinstalled?

Why getting a key for Home while you already have Pro?
If there is a reason for this, and you want to go from Pro to Home, only thing you have to do is enter the Home key in Pro and Avast will "convert" itself to Home.

Please provide all relevant details. That will make it easier for us to give accurate help.

Please post the tail of the file <avast>\setup\setup.log.
If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving's not for you.

This is not enough, post the whole log section for the operation which sets NeedReboot=true.

Begins always with an empty line, followed by 'Started:' line
