Host Intrusion Prevention System

Will avast! Free Antivirus be equipped with a Host Intrusion Prevention System (HIPS), if possible, in the near future?  With an added HIPS, this popular antivirus software will be much better as expected.

Never heard avast mention it so probably not, most third party firewalls have a hips in them or you can use winpatrol which is very lite.

Hi, Craig

Thank you for your prompt response.

I wish that a HIPS would be an added value to avast! Free Antivirus.

Regards,
A. Chung

If you want to run off a sizable chunk of the user base, this is a great idea! :D

NO

they have another vision >>> the behavior shield. Again, there will never be an HIPS in Avast.

Isnt a host intrusion prevention system an essential in PC security? wouldnt this make my computer more prone to hackers? Do you recommend any other software that I can install to make my computer more secure ? ( note that I already have Avast Internet security and I have enabled the windows firewall as well)

@meepo88 reading your questions you wouldn't be able to deal with a HIPS anyway, just forget about it ::)
