HIPS is not user friendly. It involves too much user interaction.

Isnt a host intrusion prevention system an essential in PC security? wouldnt this make my computer more prone to hackers? Do you recommend any other software that I can install to make my computer more secure ? ( note that I already have Avast Internet security and I have enabled the windows firewall as well)
[/quote]

avast 6 have a behavior blocker so an Hips it is not necessary.

your question is like " do i need to wear a bulletproof vest, when i have a kevlar vest?"

i think u should disable Windows firewall because u use Avast security suit that have a firewall.

u can use malwarebyte anti malware FREE (not Pro), it is one of the best malware remover.

No you cannot use both. Google people. Its called overlapping security. Sure you maybe to use both together. When two programs fight over the same malware then most of the time both loose. Look at NIS. Its has Sonar which is a BB. No HIPS. CIS has HIPS and no BB.

Well if you knew what you were doing then you would upgrade your OS to Windows 7 64 bit. LOL. Just teasing.

and you don't know much obviously ::)

edit: and to make things clear, although again its useless to use both imo, they won't conflict as they don't do the same things at all, okay, or at least in such a different way >>> time to go learn a few things may be? good luck ;D

They wont conflict running side by side yes. But under a malware attack is different. There are a lot of HIPS test you can download to try this out. System Safety Shutdown Simulator is one. Comodo's CLT test is another.
