Well honestly ..............Since I am the only one nice enough to help you out I am at a loss. The only other thing to do is reformat your drive.

Well, alright then. I'll just reformat when I upgrade my rig this friday, then. I was hoping not to have to re-install Windows 7, but oh well.

Flyboy, just want to double-check that you have thoroughly removed all previous security software?
If you have then please try this. It has helped in the past. Not everyone but it has helped some.

Windows 7 - http://windows7themes.net/winsock-fix-for-windows-7.html

Fix Winsock Manually on Windows 7

1. Open up the command line utility and enter:

netsh winsock reset catalog (resets winsock entries)
netsh int ip reset reset.log hit (resets TCP/IP stack)

2. Reboot your PC

Good idea. Haven't thought of that since XP.

Did you download the file and run it? Looks like its time to wipe the slate clean and start all over. BUT..............This time do it right. Get an external HDD and make weekly backups using a system image. Windows 7 backup is good but Paragon Home and Recovery Free is better.

I'll see about the backups. But either way, thanks for the help.
