I never had Firefox 3.6 installed on this machine.  So, thats not a cause.  webrep does not block igoogle on IE or chrome.  Its just firefox.

Maybe then iGoogle is incompatible with FF 4.0?

I just Googled it and there are a lot of links to your problem unrelated to WebRep.

igoogle works fine with webrep disabled.   It only stops working with it enabled.  It also worked fine earlier in the week.  So, I would suggest it is something in a recent definitions update.

I don't know what just happened, but I'll be back this afternoon with a report on a clean install of Firefox 4.0 and WebRep.

@ Hiballer & doubledoom
Whilst I don't use iGoogle as my home page, I do have an iGoogle page set-up and the limited gadgets that I have on it work in FF4 with the webrep add-on installed.

So I'm not sure why it would be different if iGoogle were the default home page, as in your case. What gadgets do you have on the iGoogle page ?

My home page is http://home.bt.yahoo.com/ and that works just fine and it has a similar set-up of gadgets/content.

Nice.  I can see you have at least two of the same widgets I have (Weather and Calendar).  I don't see WebRep's little green bar indicator though.  Have you moved it down to the notification bar at the bottom?  I don't think having iGoogle as my home page is the trigger though.  I am beginning to suspect that, as Dieselman points out, that it may be an interaction between two of my add-ons.  I have another add-on called 'RedirectRemover' that has caused several of my normally clickable links to stop functioning unless I turn it off.

What happens to my gadgets is this:  When I approach the little drop-down in the title bar of the gadget, it 'dims out' and does not allow the drop-down menu (Edit, Delete, etc.) to appear.  I also cannot 'grab' the title bar and move the gadget to another position on the page.

If you are able to do this, with WebRep enabled, then there is something not entirely correct somewhere; but, I have five computers, all with updated versions of FF to 4.0 and ALL of them exhibit this same behavior.  If it was just one, then I'd look on that computer for the problem, but since it's on all five of them.... (2 Win7, 2 Vista and 1 XP/SP3)

As I said before, I have the perfect opportunity to test all our theories out this afternoon with a perfectly clean install of FF4.0 on a laptop that has never seen Firefox before.  That should tell the tale.

You should look again. Sitting right there next to WOT.

Look at the top right of the image it is there with WOT out of the way.

Got it.  I didn't move your picture far enough to the right.

OK, I added a couple more gadgets, one animated just to test and I also changed iGoogle to my Home page and everything working as it should. The image is a .gif to keep file size down and that is the reason Turtles doesn't appear to be correct as it is a graduated background colour in the gadget.

For me if I hover over the Drop down bar icon it is highlighted and clicking on it lowers the selections.

Now to switch back to my normal home page.

Excellent!  I am happy to hear that.  It simply might be something in all my installations that is inhibiting WebReps functionality.  They were all upgraded from the same version of FF at the same time so whatever is making the add-on stop working is common to all five installations.

I'll be back in about four hours.

On my laptop which is running 6.0.1000 and definition 110402-1 its working fine.  My desktop is running the 1044 version and that has the problem

edit: that theory failed.  I uninstalled 1044 and put 1000 on the desktop and that still has the problem with webrep

Why don't you just create a clean profile in FF and test with that? (Not uninstall and wipe settings, just the profile, you can switch between them.)

@Barkaye:  True.  WebRep does show up in FF4.  What happens is you will lose the functionality of all your home page widgets if (and only IF) you use iGoogle as your home page.

just checked iGoogle page, not used it for ages & all works perfectly for me in FF4 webrep running apart from 1 gadget saying it's unsupported ... latest avast definitions running here, perhaps some junk files/cookies could easily be interfering somehow

I just tried that - no go.  New profile does same thing.  This is with just iGoogle as home page and WebRep as an add-on.  Nothing else.
