I have 100% CPU usage while printing web pages to "Adobe PDF" for several minutes.
This doesn't happen if I turn off avast! shields.
The problem seems to be caused by Sf.bin (in C:\Program Files\AVAST Software\Avast\defs\11032700\)

OS: Vista SP2
avast! Free 6.0.1044
Adobe Acrobat 10.0.0

Acrobat tries to open its log file repeatedly, when avast File system shield is enabled.

If you haven't already done so, temporarily add the Acrobat location (e.g. 'C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 10.0' or whatever it is) to the File System Shield exclusions. This should negate the problem until it's fixed.

Problem solved by adding EmEditor to avast! file system shield exclusion, or changing file association of .log file back to Notepad. Thanks.

Hi Dfbb,

please, I am trying to reproduce this problem with Emeditor but without success. Do you have any special configuration in Adobe Distiller, what browser are you using?

thanks a lot,

Sorry for the late response. I'm using Internet Explorer 9 and printing some web pages with Chinese characters (you can try www.baidu.com and www.google.com.hk). Adobe Distiller produce error logs about missing fonts, and open it with EmEditor.

With avast! file shield enabled, emeditor.exe is executed repeatedly, that cause high cpu usage of Sf.bin for scanning emeditor.exe.
