Avast and Foxmail: help needed!

Hi, you all.
I've got Foxmail 5 passing through Avast! with no issues related to Hotmail & POP3 acounts... but Yahoo's retrieves so slow that even a 2 KB plain-text message takes more than 10 min. to d/l (the same takes only a few seconds with NO-Avast configuration)
This is the second time I ask for help from you... hope I'd  receive some tips/ideas/advice from you.
