avast uploading continously somewhere?
« on: September 27, 2004, 03:55:31 PM »
hi. i'm from italy, so, sorry 4 my english.

avast is a great one! he found me korgo, parite and other trj. now i'm not anymore infected.
since i've installed it on my pc, i found 2 strange things i'd like to understand:

1) everytime i turn on my pc, a message appears, telling me that an user is asking me to connect to internet. the name of the asker is CONTRA.FIR3WALL.US.
if a click ok, my modem starts connection. if i refuse, the message continues coming up every 10 sec.
any ideas about it?

2) i found a lot of uploading traffic when i'm connected, so my navigation peformances are slower than earlier.
i don't know how to lock all that uploding traffic. i started NETSTAT from dos, but i'm not so able and i only read a lot of packet sended to microsoft-ds.
is it normal??

thanks a lot.

Welcome to this board.

Looks like your system still has malware on it. Click on the link in my signature and follow the steps as explained on that page. Let us know if you still have troubles after doing so.

well, i followed your steps and i found one more virus resident in system volume.
now its working perfectly.

thank you very much for your quick suggestions.

bye

ps. the traffic was made by windows update, not from any virus.
