Run a boot time scanning and move infected files to Chest.

What problems do you have ? As removing the wrong files or registry entries could ruin your day

Use the boot time scan with Avast to clear any infected files

A good start would be "WITH AVAST" is to make sure you are up to date with your definitions and program version. You can find out in the main menu when you click MAINTENANCE, then UPDATE.
Once that is completed click on REAL-TIME SHIELDS.
On the right hand side you will see an option for SETTINGS.
For my opinion and preferences, I have these as my settings:
Inside the new window of settings, down near the bottom on the left hand side click the Sensitivity and change the HEURISTIC to HIGH and check the PUP and software option below it. Click OK

Next in the main menu on the left hand side click on SCAN COMPUTER, then Scan NOW
You should see several of options at this point. You would want to look for FULL SYSTEM SCAN option. Just below that you should see MORE DETAILS. Just click on that and click on that blue link that says turn ON for PUPS.

Now all you need is to click on START!
(might take sometime for it to complete)

Hope this helped.

@ pcclean3453,

If you are not an advanced computer user, for now I would leave your Avast settings at default (do not change the settings), until you are more comfortable with how the software works and you become more knowledgeable with how computers work.  Otherwise you could get false positives and not know what to do and make mistakes.

The suggestions given in earlier posts about making sure your Avast definitions are up to date, then running an Avast Quick Scan, then an Avast Boot scan, and a free MBAM (Malwarebytes) are all good suggestions.

You might also want to consider CCleaner, a free system optimization, privacy and cleaning tool.  There is a Slim version available as well at http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/builds – 4th option down.  It removes unused files (cache, temporary Internet files, etc.) from your system, allowing Windows to run faster and freeing up valuable hard disk space.  It also cleans traces of your online activities such as your Internet history.  Additionally it contains a fully featured registry cleaner; make a back up of your registry fix prior to fixing.

Let us know if you have any additional questions.  Thank you.

there's nothing special that he wants to report or ask questions about, the guy is starting threads randomly with one stupid question after the other. He started to do that yesterday. If he's a kid he's forgiven, but I'm not sure that he's one ;D
