What version of Avast! are you using
What vps version?
What OS?
What exactly is the error message? (If you are getting one.)

version is avast 4 home
error: cannot connect to server
it downloads as far as servers.def and stops
I am using broadband so it should not hang, I am also using it VIA a home network
I think that is all

Noel, you do not need to post twice the same problem...
Did you try what Bob suggested in another thread? (firewall access)  ;)

But, did you configure avast connections Settings (Advanced) to DSL and not for dial-up?
