Avast Home Ver 4.1 not updating

I have been getting the red popup banner for the last week now telling me that Avast was unsuccessful in updating. I have tried manually updating and it tells me there are no updates.

Is there a way to solve this problem?

Well, most probably it's your firewall which is blocking avast to connect...
Which one do you use? Which is your operational system?  ::)
