How can I stop the providers?
« on: September 30, 2004, 09:52:06 PM »
Actually, I know how to terminate those which I don't use, but they keep starting again each time I use the computer. Is there a way to have them NOT working even after a reboot?
Thanks

start > control panel > add/remove > avast > change

remove the providers you don't need/want.

I have windows 98 and I do not see or get the option "change" . I can only remove avast!

Click on remove and see if you can change Avast that way. Not sure if this will work in 98(se) but at least you need to confirm before Avast deletes itself, so you can cancel at that point if you don't get the option to remove installed components from there.

Double click on the "line" Avast in the Add/Remove and the Change option will show.

However, if you click on the Add/Remove button, the same menu box will open.  It will not remove Avast directly.

Simple.  ;D
